Ray, here is one of Douglas Grigar's micro-photographs from a 2006 discussion here (one of several) covering actual abraders like Ulano Micro Grit, and common household cleaners like Comet. Perhaps you missed it, but it is difficult to ignore the physical evidence.

Even high pressure washing may not remove all of the particles, and the mesh does get damaged as well.

C'mon dude, you're retired, you don't need to sabotage your competition any more! LOL
