No offense, but this is not a good idea. It has even been covered in past posts. A really good search via google, referencing this board will do better than the board's search feature. What you want are threads and posts about abrading mesh, or mesh abrader. Abraders used to be used to aid adhesion of cap films, and was mistakenly also recommended for emulsion. It was eventually discovered that it did more damage than good. So, what does this have to do with Comet? Comet was also used for this purpose. Microscopic pictures posted by Doug Grigar, have shown, not only the degraded, compromised mesh, but undissolved particles of the powdered cleaners, embedded in the mesh.
