Good point.

I don't understand why people don't try to hold lower than 10% o any line screen. mean, of course you can hold 10% dot on a 30-40 line screen. The point you want to know where you stand is on a 55 or a 60 line screen. At what point do you begin to fill in on the halftones? So, out of a 55 line screen, what is the point where you stop holding dots?

Once you find that out, how can you improve that? What emulsion can you switch to? Are your emulsion (burn times) as best as they can be?

I start at the film output and achieve the best I can get…and then look at burn times, emulsion type, coating procedure and now that we are increasing dot detail, you want to pay attention to mesh alignment. If it's off, it will cause mesh interference and is more noticeable at these finer points.
