Yeah, I do believe the pthalates act as or are part of plasticizers when in plastisol inks. I do notice that inks containing the pthalates seem to have a stretchier hand.

That said, I've never pulled a print with plastisol that contains pthalates and have done quite a few transfers using them. I would blame the difference on the switching of brands- some ink co.'s excel at manufacturing ink without the pthalates, some don't. Plus, that stuff is nasty and more than likely illegal in your neck of the woods. You guys are always way ahead of Americans in banning carcinogenic substances.

I'd find a good supplier of the pthalate-free ink and then either pick up some of their transfer-specific ink or use an athletic ink for the transfer prints- something with a little more body to it may help. To get good stretch you need good bridging of the ink across the fabric. You can also try stretch additive in the ink.
