Could this be to do with the ink I'm using - it's phthalates free ? I tried changing the times and the initial results before washing were good, the print stretched nicely without a problem. Then I did a wash test and lots of the ink came off which suggests to me that it wasn't cured properly. I spoke to the ink supplier about this and he is telling me that as the ink is phthalates free this is possibly the problem. He also told me that this ink needs a longer cure. It's Avantex Plus ink that I am using. I deliberately over cured a direct print and the ink went hard and cracked as soon as any stretch was applied to it. From what I have read the phthalates part of the ink is what makes it stretchy, does anyone have any more information about this, I'm not so familiar with ink technology, do I need an ink containing phthalates to make good transfers ? I'm in England so am not sure how the local laws apply to this. | ||
