Hello Dan,
For starters 5" is far away for t-shirts, we run shirts between 2 1/2" and 3 1/2".
How are you measuring the ink temp?
And how many seconds is the 20 setting on your dryer? I would not want to go faster than 25 seconds.
As you may/should know, the goal is to bring the ink temp "through-out" to a full cure. A full cure is based on the ink company’s temperature recommendation, approximately 315 to 325 for most. This means all the way to the garment not just the skin. The stretch test will tell you if it is not cured, "cracking" but not necessarily if it IS cured.
You may be boarder line on the cure, or checking it while still a bit too hot. It is clear you need more time or more heat which lowering the heaters even 1" will achieve. One other thing to be sure of is over flashing, please make sure you only gel the ink while flashing. If you cure the first layer of ink with the flash the second hit will not adhere properly and you cannot re-gel the first layer in the conveyor no matter what the heat.

I hope this helped, please call us with any questions if you want to chat.
