| I would contact the FastRIP manfacturer (host of these forums) and ask them specifically about the upgrades, but I think they charge as newer versions come out. I think that the RIPs are programmed to run only on the Epson models that are specified for that version of the software, but again, I'd check with the FastRIP people. As for the operating system, you'll need a Mac that will run OS9. I'm not sure the new Intel-based Macs have that capability. I have a Mac G3 400mhz model that runs both OS9 and OSX, except for the latest version. You can probably find one for about $100 or less (they're about 8 years old, but still a capable computer). That said, I'd get answers to everything before I started buying more hardware in the hopes that you'll get this stuff running. You may wind up spending a lot of money and end up with alot of junk. | |
