Your "fine lines" sounds like a problem I was having. I tried re-exposing the screen in the sunshine AFTER I washed it out and that seems to help when I go to re-claim the screen. I think the exposure light tends to under-expose along the outside edges of the design, making reclaiming a problem. StrippeeDoo's shelf life is a minor issue to me.
