For M-3 you need a 1/2" drive, 3/4" socket to fit a 3/4" bolt head.

At a bare minimum the socket should be a 12 point socket because it supports each corner on your bolt at two points and lessens the wear on both the socket and bolt as well as making a better fit with less slop.
In a pinch....you can use any 3/4" by 1/2" drive socket.

The sockets that stretch sells through their dealers are actually some of the best configuration. The points are rounded and have the best life, strongest build quality and least wear on the bolt. They are getting hard to find made this way so its worth the extra few bucks to get what stretch sells if you want to stick to the letter.

The torque wrench should be a click type, it should have a thunb button lever so you can switch directions without using both hands. The kind that has a circular dial on the back are miserable to use.

You get what you pay for in a torque wrench. The cheapy chinese models from Harbor freight and others do not have hardened gears inside....usable life is about 6-8 months. What do you want for $35.
Sears does not have any lever type ones worth what they want for them.
The ones they do have at Sears...are too long.

If the wrench is very long...like 32-36 inches...its hard to work with. It also means that you bought one that goes way higher in torque than you will ever use. Stay with a wrench of about 15-18".

Remember. A torque wrench needs to be recalibrated about every 10,000 clicks. The $35 cheapys get out of whack in less time than that.
Personally I would budget about $130 plus for a torque wrench and shop around.

The ones that Homey Depot has...are Husky brand. Well made...and they have a short one...but the direction change lever is hard to use. Ray
