She simply needs to establish a set price list (formula) and stick to it. She should check the prices of her competitor and price her products at about the same level. If someone tries to negotiate with her, in the long run she is better off loosing a few cheapo customers than to continue to establish this "I will take what you offer me" policy.

More than likely, she has already gotten the reputation as being the cheapest printer in town, and thus only customers who want cheap work go to her. Being the cheapest means NOTHING to good customers who want quality and service and fast turnaround.

And, she likely has a lot of these cheapo customers abusing her. Many of them are likely LYING about what they claim the competitors charge. I have seen it over and over.

I have told those types of customers that if they can bring in an apples to apples WRITTEN quote from a local competitor that is cheaper than what I charge that I will beat it by 10%. I have NEVER had anyone bring me one of those written quotes.

Probably 80% of customers who try to negotiate - lie.

She needs to dump all those customers and go out and get some good customers.
