I learned a looooong time ago that no matter what I do, I'm almost always going to have problems. For example, I specify maximum crate dimensions, knowing that it will fit through my dock door. Of course I've allowed a few inches for error. I have the fork lift lined up to be on site when the truck is supposed to arrive. I even have dock plates, moving dollies, everything I can think of. This is going to be smooth, 'cuz after doing it so many times, I've got it down THIS time. Only problem is, sure, the crate will fit through the dock door....if the truck isn't 4" higher than dock level. The dock plate would allow us to drag it in, but since the truck is high, it ain't heppening. So we move the truck, drag the equipment to the edge of the truck, take it off using the fork, and set it on the dock. So now the fork is outside and we need it inside. Can I stop now? It really seems no matter how careful one is, there are always issues. Don't point fingers and get all pissed off, for now at least. Do your job and get everything where you need it. Then work with all parties involved and see who can help you and how. Just a little food for thought from someone that's had to but though a 14" concrete and brick wall, among other challenges | ||
