Most of my Pad Printing experience came while working for Norwood http://www.norwood.com/. As part of my Art Department management duties I led a R&D / Process Improvement Team made up of key employees from all departments. I was lucky because our (purchasing) volume was such that factory reps from equipment, plate and ink manufacturers were always available to me and visited often. Between that, a great boss, and a (nice) R&D budget we learned a lot and were able to develope some new proprietary processes. Good thing you were "just kidding" about the job leads, not much out there right now for pad printers.
