Hi Frank, I use alcohol wash plates from Inkcups Now. I think my record is about 20K hits from one plate. I wore about 1/3 of the thickness off the plate during that run. The art was simple text, so I was able to keep a quality print through the entire job. Most of my runs ar 1K or less. I started getting a lot of ink residue left on plates from one of my original cups. I took a suggestion from this forum and glued a sheet of 1600 grit sand paper to a plate of glass with spray adhesive. I lightly oiled the paper and ran the cup over it in a figure 8 pattern for about 2 - 3 minutes. That helped, and I am still using the original cups/rings. Hope that helps, Dan | |
