I'm not the technical answer that you need, but will toss out a penny and a half. I was thinking a while back (before I got a conveyor dryer) of building one. After seen the workhorse, I was going to build one using the quartz bulbs and posted that question here. Preston (prior electrician) came in with a post explaining why the 'panels' are better and cheaper to use/replace. Especially for a DIY dryer. What your diagram shows certainly looks like it should do the job. Possibly the heating elements are setting too high over the shirts or there might be air (draft?) entering through the intake causing a temperature variance while printing. I have a Vastex (old one) now and it has an adjustment for the elements (up and down) and I use it at 3 1/2 inches over the belt. Maybe someone else can chime in with a better answer, but I suspect trying to change over to quartz (like workhorse) would not be cost effective. | |
