User Profile (general)

All information associated with your user profile is strictly voluntary. If you are uncomfortable with having your contact information viewable by others, do not fill out any of the non-required fields. Additionally, there is an option available to make your profile viewable only by other registered board users and measures have been taken to deter email harvesting bots from capturing your email address.

Username
This is your online identity. It will appear with each post you make, so pick a name that represents your personality. Please use letters, numbers, and/or hyphens only.

E-Mail
A valid email address is required for registration since your initial login password will be mailed to you.

Real Name
Allowing other site users to know your real name is a good thing if you want to be contacted offline.

Title
Your job title.

Company
The name of your company.

Business Type
The category under which your primary source of business is done.

Address
Your business address.

Location & postal code
All the necessary information to reach you by snail mail: City, State or Province, Country, and postal code.

Phone 1
The primary phone number at which you can be contacted. Often a toll free number.

Phone 2
A secondary contact phone number.

Fax
Your business fax number.

Site
The web address of your business or personal homepage.

Quote or Bio
Let people know a little about yourself. A brief personal history or a famous quote that encapsulates your personality.

Signature
This can be added to the end of a post you make. Just select the 'signature' checkbox before submitting your post.

Photo or Logo
It is often nice to have a face to go with the name. If you are bashful, just use your company logo. The image MUST:
* be of file types: .jpg, .gif, or .png (when using the 'browse' button, you may have to change 'file types' to 'all').
* be smaller than 10k in file size.
* have dimensions of 100 pixels in width and 150 pixels in height.

Time Offset
Since the web is a global place, you can change the time stamp of your posts to represent your actual local time.

Subscriptions
Each message board's daily postings are collected and put into a single email. You can subscribe and/or unsubscribe to any of the individual boards on a daily basis.

Language
Only American English is currently supported.

Topics Per Page
The number of Topics displayed per page (Topics are the 'base' posts on each board). For slower bandwidth connections a lower number of topics is suggested.

 

New Topic
It is reccomended that you try the Message Board's Search feature before submitting a New Topic as previous Topics may have covered the nature of your post. Do not worry about the last post date on previous Topics. All new posts automatically 'refresh' the Topic and bring it to the beginning of the Board.

 

Ratings
The reader's popularity rating for each post. After reading a post, use the rating function below the message and submit your vote by clicking 'Go'.

You can type any of the following codes to make a smiley appear in your post:
